I really do second this notion. It is true that we want people to appreciate our creations, to be known for our ability to materialize our imagination. But there are so many times when us artists forget what got us into creating in the first place: our passion for it. So why get caught up with all the trivial matter of being popular or not? Sure, it might hurt if all your hard work doesn’t get recognized as much as you expect, but hey, there’s always a reason to it, right? Just keep working hard, keep doing what you love without holding too many expectations because it will show. Do it for yourself, do it for people you know will appreciate your creations, do it for people who matter to you. Don’t let things like “my things are under-appreciated” or “he/she doesn’t deserve so much blah blah” get in the way for your passion and appreciation for art.
